[Poor poor Rage. ] Amaya nearly jumped out of we skin at the scream inside the store. She sighed quietly and wormed her way inside after recomposing herself. Finding Rage in a crumpled stance and throwing money on the counter, she steppe up to him and looked at him curiously. Her ears twitched at the sound of crinkling paper bags and she turned to face the blind boy, her hair bristled up. Through gritted teethe, she growled, "Who screamed and why." Absolutely zero question in her voice. It was a demand. No, a command. "NOW," she snapped. Kazuki blinked his visible eye and smiled slyly. "Some guy through his communicator." He pointed at Rage and set the heavy bags of...food on the counter and smile more. "Says they found a place to live." "You are all kinds of intruding, aren't you?" Amaya snapped, grabbing what bags she could and stalked back out of the store. "Sorry. Just a habit. Probably what made me blind," Kazuki muttered, scratching the side of his head. "I swear... Women these days." "What moment, jackass?" Yuki grumbled in Kiba's ear. "Hey! It's okay for you to come in!" "Shut up, no they're not!" Kiba whispered defensively. He didn't want anyone in te room. He just wanted to be with his albino mate and snuggle and be cute and stuff. But nooooooooo. "You shut up! Let 'em come in. Don't be a prude!" "Fine, dammit!" "Ha. I win." "Shut the fuck up." -.- "Bite me." And...he did. He very gently nipped her ear.

Even with his deadpan face, Rage's previous scare was apparent by the beads of sweat that had accumulated on his brow. Scythe's calls just snuck up on him in the most random intervals....
He noticed some of the bags missing from the counter and saw Amaya's purple hair trailing behind her as she stormed out with them. Rage straightened and wiped his forehead with his arm, forcing himself to calm his heart.
"I swear...women, these days," the blind teen sighed, making Rage blink at him.
"..." Rage carefully reached out and took his hand. Just as he'd thought. They were Scythe hands. Warm and soft, inviting. This was the hand of an individual who could not be put down. Rage almost smiled. Almost.
He couldn't bow - the guy probably wouldn't see it - so Rage figured a handshake to be its equivalent in this situation. He gave the blind teen's hand a firm shake.
Then he swiped up the remaining bags, ended up bowing anyway, and hurried to catch up to Amaya. It's not like she would know where the new house was.
Kugomi shook Vell's hand off - much to his annoyance - and trotted over to the bedside. She leaned in close and squinted at Yuki. "..." She stood back up and tilted her head. "You CANNOT be related to the bastard-cat! You're too pretty!"
"Anybody's prettier than you, tomboy," Vell growled.
"And anybody who isn't related to you is cool in my book," she shot back with a quick glare in his direction. Kugomi turned back to the girl, grinning, sticking out her hand. "The name's Uzumaki Kugomi. You?"

Amaya was outraged by the screaming, so frustrated by the fact she was SCARED by it. With the bags in tow, she stomped off outside, turning and tapping her foot as she waited for Rage. She drowned very deeply.
She glared at the dirty ground, so close to just leaving. How could he be afraid of a scream? Just...how? She frowned even more deeply. A SCREAM dammit! It's a noise, a measly goddamn noise. A NOISE.
Seriously. It was a noise. She's never been so angry in her life. It was a noise. How could she be afraid of a noise? She was all sorts of odd today.
Maybe she was getting soft...
Yuki watched their little exchange, bristling. "Hey! He's family so I'd appreciate it if you'd stop insulting him!" she snapped, not meaning to be rude or anything. Just trying to 'protect' her family. "And my name is Kusanagi Yuki." Hmph. Damn newcomers. Always insulting and always yelling.
She was starting to get another headache.
"Hey, Yuki. She smells really kinda feral," Kiba whispered, his head cocked over his shoulder to five his mate. "Think she tangled with some wolves? Or coyotes or somethin'?"
"Quit your shit talking. She's new and we don't know her," Yuki replied quietly, looking back at Kiba with a small frown, almost as if she was scolding him. She wasn't but still. Manners are important.
"Fine, Fine..."
"Good boy."
"Whatever."
"Don't be so lame," she muttered, turning her attention to the short and very loud blond girl. "So who exactly are you?"

Rage was met by an Amaya who was frowning severely. He stopped short as he saw her, blinking. He was always blinking. It was the clearest way he could ask people "What are you doing?". It was an unconscious reflex now. Amaya looked upset about something. Mad at herself, more than anything. Rage wondered why. She wasn't blind OR mute. He figured she should be pretty content with herself. Of course, there was that business with her closed-offness. Maybe that was a handicap, too? He set down the groceries in his left hand. Raised his arm. Hesitated. Were they really that close yet? The thought of touching her was making him beat himself up inside but... she needed SOME kind of comfort. Just once wouldn't be so bad. He just hoped she didn't become suspicious of him because of it. Rage reached down and patted her shoulder encouragingly. He'd almost been tempted to pat Amaya's head but that just seemed too demeaning for a person her size. His peach colored eyes lightened as if trying to say "it's okay" and he hoped with high hopes that she didn't think of him forever as weird for this. "My apprentice," Vell said before Kugomi could open her mouth. "My ASS," she growled with a glare back at him. Then she was back to Yuki. "The nek-- Vell-kun's a friend of mine, since I was little. He taught me how ta talk an' stuff. Haven't seen 'im in months until now, though," she grumbled. Vell heaved a big sigh. His ear twitched at Kiba's comment. "Wolves. She hangs out with wolves." He said it almost out of disgust. "An' you smell like dogs," Kugomi pointed out. Then she grinned. "Kakko ii! (Cool!) I thought I'd have ta be stuck with the neko the whole time. So, Yuki-chan? That's a pretty name! " "Yuki- san. Have manners," Vell quipped from the doorway. "Ne, ne, can I call you Yun-chan instead?" Kugomi asked excitedly. Vell rolled his eyes and gave up.

A small tap on Amaya's shoulder forced the small girl to focus her attention on the here and now, not the anger she harbored for herself. The tap was soft, almost comforting. She looked up at her companion and frowned. Again. More deeply. Goddammit.
She wanted to kick herself. Always with the stupid frowns. Why was it her only means of providing expression? Why was it only a frown? Why the fuck couldn't she do something else? Why, dammit!
Rage's peachy eyes were on the gentle side, comforting, as he stared down at her, his hand never leaving her shoulder. In comparison, his hand was twice as big as her shoulder. Well, he was twice, of not three times, as big as she was. How'd he get to be so tall?
Her thoughts were static, going anywhere and everywhere from the tall teen's interruption. Expression mellowing, she sighed inaudably and closed her eyes. A light gust of air whisked by, sending a small shiver through her tiny body.
Well, great. It was starting to get cold.
"Where are we going now?" Amaya asked softly, readjusting the paper bags in her arms. She looked up at the tall boy again, looking for an answer.
Another gust. The small girl shivered more obviously, her hands gripping the bags a bit tightly. She must have looked so weak right about now...
"Yun-chan?" Yuki asked with all the confusion in the world, looking up at the Inuzuka boy with just as much confusion. He only smiled and shrugged.
"Let her call you what she wants. I'm stickin' to Yu-Yu," he mumbled sweetly, throwing an arm around her thin shoulders. "Yu-Yu's better anyway." His toothy smile widened.
"You're no help!" she snipped, a soft blush lighting up her otherwise colorless cheeks. Turning her attention back to the blond girl, Yuki breathed slowly and shrugged as well as Kiba. "What he said."
"I'm no help? Oh, that hurts," the mutt said, feigning hurt, laying backward across the bed in a dramatic manner.
...
"Shut up, stupid! It's not like you're unloved."
"Your point?"
"I'm fixin' to smack you. -.-*"
"No! Please don't hit me! I'll do anything!"
"You'll do anything anyway, Kiba." Yuki shook her head with mild disapproval, frowning just a little.
The boy shrugged and sat up again, wrapping his arms around her waist gently, careful not to hurt her. "Damn straight." He smiled.

Rage removed his hand from Amaya's tiny shoulder and picked up his bags again. He looked around the darkening streets - unaffected by the breeze that passed over his skin harmlessly - and pulled up his chakra senses. Scythe hadn't exactly told him where the new apartment was, but that was okay. Rage could find it.
Rather, he found Rage and Awaji. Their chakra was just a few blocks away.
He looked back at Amaya and jerked his head, signalling her to follow, and strode down the street with the groceries in tow.
"..." Kugomi looked between Kiba and Yuki suspiciously. "You guys aren't MATES, are you?" she asked slowly.
Vell rubbed his face. "Stop using your wolf-terms here, idiot, it embarrasses everybody."

Amaya nodded to Rage and began to follow him in the direction he dipped his head. Stepping lightly, readjusting her bags, her ears twitched.
"Rage," she muttered, looking up at him. "I need you to take my groceries."
It was, indeed, dark now. Stars littered the clear night sky and there were hardly any lights on. After all, everyone must be closing their shops since it's too dark out.
The two MATES looked at each other with more confusion then back at Kugomi, simultaneously saying, "Yes!"
"The two have been together since Yuki arrived," a calm Kakashi informed, a small smile in his voice.
"Yup! Damn near insuperable!" Yuki chirped, resting her head on Kiba's shoulder.
"Yeah!" The Inuzuka grinned from ear to ear and held Yuki as tightly as he could without hurting her at all. She was still injured, y'know. So, of course, he had to try and be gentle. As she was with him.
"Why do you ask?"

"Rage."
The black haired teen stopped and looked down at Amaya, incredulous. It was the first time she'd ever said his name. He didn't know why but that struck him as something important.
Amaya looked up through her lashes, her signature frown in place. "I need you to take my groceries," she murmured.
He complied immediately, shifting all of his' to one hand and taking the ones she held in her small, cold hands. Cold hands. Compared to his large, warm and calloused ones, these were the opposite. He wondered on that. Did that make them different? Or was it the cold that was getting to her small form?
Once again Rage found himself itching to pick the lock on Amaya's true meaning. And once again, he just bowed to her and continued walking. Just one more block and they could get into a nice warm apartment.
Vell gaped at the couple. "You've gotta be kidding." Not a question.
"Wow! I didn't know humans did that, too," Kugomi marveled, as if Yuki and Kiba were a rare species she'd only dreamed about. "The only mates I've ever seen are with wolves, an' Ma an' Pa acted a lot like you guys."
"Ugh. It's late. I'm going home," Vell muttered, brushing past Kakashi to leave. The jonin watched him go but said nothing.
"Vell-kun's a big downer," Kugomi muttered to Yuki while eying the doorway, "but he grows on ya. He's actually a real' good guy if ya get past his pissy-fits. -.-'' "
[Of course, Kugomi stops insulting Vell as soon as he leaves. She's the opposite of a gossiper. XDDD]

[Mehhhhhhhh. Lame friggin post. >< And Kugomi is funny.]
Once the tall teen took her bags, Amaya closed her purple eyes and held her hands out in front of her. Palms up. Breathing nice and slow. She focused all of her chakra into her hands, concentrating on making a small ball of fire.
A dim glow and then a concentrated fire ball appeared in her cold hands, its light warming all that it touched. She shivered for the last time and reveled in the rays, looking up at Rage with gratitude for relieving her of her heavy bags.
She supposed that now was the time to go. "Lead the way, Rage," she said softly, holding her ball.
Kazuki gave an exasperated sigh as he hung up his blue apron. Another day of work completed. Yay. He shook his head, not exactly as happy as he could be.
This kids, both of them were shinobi, and they completely ruined his happy vibe, what with their frowning and snapping. Sure, he may have been a little too perceptive but... Did Ami-san really have to yell at him? He didn't do anything wrong. It's not like he meant to make anyone uncomfortable.
It was just a habit. A harmless habit. Was that so wrong?
Apparently.
He frowned for the first time today, remembering that his habit is, indeed, why caused him to be blind. If he wasn't so perceptive, then he wouldn't have been able to piss anyone off, and then he wouldn't have gotten hit in the eyes so many times. Goddamn. If people didn't react so badly, then he wouldn't be blind.
People were fucking cruel.
Taking his mind off the sensitive subject, Kazuki decided that maybe he would go out for a walk before going upstairs to sleep. A stroll might help him improve his mood. Yes. That's it.
Stepping away from the hanging aprons, he turned around and focused his chakra into his eyes, his Wind Element workin it's magic. It acted as a form of sonar, making sight a little easier. Walking past the rows of food, he headed outside, being careful to avoid anyone and everyone, if anyone was out.
Yuki tilted her head sideways, flustered by Kugomi's statement. "We're animals... Kiba's part dog and I'm part...um...everything," she explained, confusing herself even further in the process.
"Part everything? How are you part everything?" the said Inuzuka explained, looking at Yuki with his own confusion tucked away in his slitted brown eyes.
"Well...my clan, y'know. I come from a family that thinks its okay to turn into an animal version of Frankenstein."
"Oh yeah, that's right. Your family is weird."
"So's yours."
"How?"
"'Cos you're in it."
"That's not a good insult. -.-" Kiba shook his head with shame, almost amused by Yuki's failure of an insult. It was cute. She just couldn't do it. It always came out wrong.
He laughed.
"What's so funny? Damn dog..." the girl sighed, shaking her head.

[It was alright. :D I think it's time for a 'the next day' timeskip or something. Fresh situations.]
The two shinobi walked down the dark street, silhouetted by the ball of fire in Amaya's tiny hands. Another gust of harsh wind made Rage squint his peach eyes, the irritation making them dry. Oh, how he longed to get to sleep....
Scythe's and Awaji's chakra was behind a door on the block of apartment houses, on the first floor. Rage somehow managed to open the door with his foot for Amaya and himself before they walked down the hallway to the door numbered 4A. Rage gently kicked the door three times.
"Oh thank God," Scythe said as soon as he opened the door. He'd changed into a dark navy t-shirt and gray sweatpants, but his hair was as unkempt and tangled as ever. And his grin was still there. "Awaji-kun's about ready to eat a throw pillow in here."
Rage blinked and looked over Scythe's shoulder. Awaji was lying on the couch on his side, curled into the fetal position, as he always was when he slept. Even asleep, his stomach growled with the ferocity of a lion's caterwaul. A sweatdrop appeared on the back of Rage's head.
He hurried inside and was impressed with the set-up. It was a spacious room that occupied the living room, dining room, and kitchen - which was the first thing Rage looked to. Light chocolate walls, hardwood floors dotted with deep red carpets, matching the couch and comfy chairs gathered around a dark cherrywood coffee table. There was even a television. This place WAS luxurious.
Throwing all the bags on the island counter in the middle of the kitchen, Rage found a wok and utensils in a low cupboard. He ripped open a package of beef and began seasoning it. He hadn't even stopped to sit down and rest and instead dove right into making his comrades dinner.
Scythe smiled down at Amaya, who still stood in the doorway. "Make yourself at home, Amaya-san. Rage-kun makes a pretty decent stir fry."
Vell yawned as he trudged down the dark street away from the hospital, shoulders stiff against the cold. "Since when was there supposed to be cold weather?" he gruffed moodily.
Still, he was pretty content. Kugomi was a sight for sore eyes. Of course she'd gotten shorter and she'd cut her hair again (most likely with a rusty kunai, from the look of it) and she was still an indigent little brat - but she was HIS indigent little brat. It was a plus, considering all the mental strain he'd have to go through to get used to living with Kakashi and his plus-one.
He found himself smiling a little, remembering Kugomi's breakdown earlier with fondness. "Ookami gaki...." Vell barely saw the brown haired teen making his way in the opposite direction Vell was walking.
Kugomi grinned. "Yup. Ma an' Pa to a tee."
The faint, high howl of a wolf from the window made Kugomi blink into the night. "Aw, crap! Ma'll kill me!" She waved at the couple still in each others' arms. "Bye, Yun-chan and... ... Mr. Dude!" she finished awkwardly, breezing by Kakashi on her way out.
