So in my major we had to complete a picture book for a kindergartner and here is the writing for it i think its really cute
Marquise the Magnificent Lion
Deep in the jungle of the Marmaloo forests,
with tall trees of branches and pinecones and bird’s nests,
over the brooks and the fresh water rivers,
and under bright skies, with sunrays just slivers.
There lies Magnificent Marquise, the lion.
Magnificent Marquise took a big yawn as he woke from his slumber,
got out of bed and said, “I am Magnificent Marquise the lion,
king of the Marmaloo forests,
and today I’m going to play on the lily pads down Lilypad Way.
So Magnificent Marquise set off,
deep into the jungle of the Marmaloo forests,
with tall trees of branches and pine cones and bird’s nests,
over the brooks and the fresh water rivers
and under bright skies, with sunrays just slivers.
There lies the frogs of the Lilypad Bog.
So the Frogs of the Lilypad Bog and Magnificent Marquise happily hopped from lily to lily, pad to pad,
until suddenly Bully the Bullfrog of the Lilypad Bog came out from the shadows. Bully the Bullfrog was monstrous and round,
long legged, he frowned and croaked, “I am Bully the Bullfrog, and I want to play a game of Rolling on the Log.
But Marquise stood proud and said, “I’m not scared!”
as he stood on the log and said, “Be prepared!
Because I’m Magnificent Marquise,
king of the Marmaloo forests,
and today I’m going to beat Bully the Bullfrog at a game of Rolling on the Log!”
The first one to fall off into the Lilypad Bog loses the game.
So Marquise ran with all his might,
And before he knew it only water was in sight!
He had lost! He had lost! As he walked back to bed,
howling, and huffing, and hanging his head.
The next day Magnificent Marquise took a big yawn as he woke up from his slumber,
got out of bed and said, “I am Magnificent Marquise the lion,
king of the Marmaloo forests,
and today I’m going to play with all of the dragonflies down Fluttery Way.”
So Magnificent Marquise set off,
deep into the jungle of the Marmaloo forests,
with tall trees of branches and pine cones and bird’s nests,
over the brooks and the fresh water rivers
and under bright skies, with sunrays just slivers.
There lies Dragonflies of the Fluttery Hive.
So the Dragonflies of the Fluttery Hive and Magnificent Marquise flew from flower to flower,
until suddenly Bully the Bullfrog of the Lilypad Bog came out from the shadows.
“I am Bully the Bullfrog,
and I want to play a game of the Dragonfly Jog.”
Marquise stood proud and said, “I’m not scared!”
as he stood up tall and said, “Be prepared!
Because I’m Magnificent Marquise,
kind of the Marmaloo forests,
and today I’m going to beat Bully the Bullfrog at a game of the Dragonfly Jog!”
The first one to touch the ground of the Dragonfly Hive looses the game.
So Marquise jumped with all his might,
and before he knew it he was no longer in flight!
He had lost! He had lost for the second time,
So he rambled back to bed, hanging his head.
The next day Magnificent Marquise took a big yawn as he woke up from his slumber,
got out of bed and said, “I am not feeling so Magnificent Marquise the lion,
second best of the Marmaloo forest,
and today I’m going to play with all of the lions down Lioness Way.
So Magnificent Marquise set off,
deep into the jungle of the Marmaloo forests,
with tall trees of branches and pine cones and bird’s nests,
over the brooks and the fresh water rivers
and under bright skies, with sunrays just slivers.
There lies the Hawaiian field of lions.
So the Hawaiian field of ferocious lions and not so Magnificent Marquise ran from tree to tree in the meadows of green
until suddenly Bully the Bullfrog of the Lilypad Bog came out from the shadows.
“I am Bully the Bullfrog,
and I want to face you in a game of Lioness Race too.
So Bully the Bullfrog and Magnificent Marquise both stood at the starting line.
On your marks!
Get Set!
GO!
And Marquise ran with all his might,
and before he knew it Bully was far out of sight!
Marquise soon crossed the finish line,
To discover Bully was far behind!
He won! He won for the very first time;
Bully sat in a corner and cried and cried.
But Marquise was no sore winner,
absolutely not,
as he waltzed over to Bully,
and gave him a fully
well thought out speech on how Bully was great,
which Bully the Bullfrog appreciated.
Marquise said,
“You won at the Roll on a Log and the Dragonfly Jog,
and I was well paced on the Lioness Race.
You are superior,
and so am I.
We are all talented in are own special way.
I am Marquise the lion and today,
I’m going to play with my new friend Bully,
because each and every animal is kind and fully,
unique and gifted in every which way.”
