Amaya returned Awaji's look and sighed. She pointed north. "It's north, considering the fact that we are a few miles south of Konohagakure." She looked over at this Vell boy and about flipped her lid. "You better be gentle with her or so help me I'll--"
"A-Amaya-sama...please stop yelling... W-we can't put Kiba or Yuki under anymore stress..." Hinata squeaked, lightly pushing the sobbing Yuki into the silver-haired boy's arms. "P-please be gentle..." she whispered to him. "A-and please...make sure Kakashi gets to her..."
"K-Kiba..." Yuki muttered to herself, wanting him and Kakahi more than anything. She took a deep and shaky breath, inhaling a slightly familiar scent and her crying seemed to calm into soft whimpers. She hurt so badly...
Aosora scoffed and ignored the boys, all of them. Actually, she ignored the whole display. He held a hand up to her chest and a soft glow lit the area she touched. She felt no pain. Well, save for the light sting of being stitched up by her chakra. "Hmph."

"What do you think I'll do, drag her by the foot?" Vell snapped irritably. Although his tongue was sharp and his eyes were sharper, he held Yuki with as much gentleness as he could. Current object of his confusion or not, she was still a kid, and she was still hurt. He wouldn't take his frustrations out on an injured little girl.
"Right. Thank you," Awaji said, bowing to Amaya. He tugged Rage's sleeve. "Let's go, senpai...."
Rage studied Amaya for a moment longer, and then looked to Scythe, who noticed and sighed. "You go on; I'll catch up. I promise." On the edges of his pan-face, Rage looked doubtful. "You want the kid you're holding to die?" Scythe prompted.
Begrudgingly, Rage followed Awaji northbound, headed for the hospital. Vell situated Yuki princess-style in his arms - that seemed to be the only position he could hold her without further injuring the poor girl - before following suit.
Scythe glanced at Aosora as the woman healed herself. He clicked his tongue. "What a sad type of woman you are. So beautiful. So ugly." Since he knew he'd be ignored anyway he turned his attention to the very small kunoichi left behind. "I take it we're all headed to the hospital, then? Mind if I tag along?" A light smile. Scythe always smiled as if trying to cheer the person he spoke to up. It wasn't intentional, but natural. An odd quirk for a killer to have.

Amaya nodded to him and the others before waving her hand at everyone, signaling that it was time to go and she disappeared.
Yuki curled into Vell's arms, her clawed fingers gripping his shirt tightly. He smelled like Kakashi... It was odd, because he wasn't Kakashi. But he smelled so much like him... She weakly lifted her head to look up at his face. Same hair, same face covering. She was confused. Unfortunately, her mind raced back to her brother and Kiba.
And then...she started to cry again. More soft and muffled. She didn't want this guy to see or even notice that she was crying. The thoughts of Kiba and Yasuo were so painful... What if Kiba was dead too? That small little sentence broke her. There was no being quiet and hiding her tears.
She sobbed loudly into Vell's shirt, holding onto him for dear life. Even her physical pain couldn't outweigh or distract her from the pain and the possibility that Kiba could be dead.
Not even the small alien sting that flashed across her skin could-- Fuck that. She was burning. Her skin was crackling and breaking and she hurt so much from just this feeling alone. She opened her watering eyes, not remembering when she'd closed them and glanced at her arms and exposed legs.
Her breath caught in her throat.
There was a soft black glow dancing around her body and where these black tendrils of light touched, her skin was dyed its shape and color. All over her body this strange light touched and the sheer burning and shock of the truth of her brother's words made we sob all the more.

The girl was crying again. Vell gritted his teeth and looked at the forest, the leaves, the trees, the sky - anything but Yuki as she sobbed in his arms.
His trek was slower than Rage's and Awaji's. Rage was a big fellow and was quite used to carrying the injured in such a way that they'd feel the minimum amount of pain, even if he ran. Vell had no such talent. So, he was reduced to a solid walk. But perhaps he had other reasons as well.
Kakashi adopted this kid. Why the hell did he adopt this kid? Better question: Why the hell didn't he mention her the last time? When we met up again? Wow. Not a pleasant memory, that. No way he was going to stir up that reverie. He shoved it to the far corner of his mind, ears twitching uncomfortably. It was making his skin pinch just thinking about the idea.
Ow. Ow? Something really painful had replaced the girl in his arms and that burning pain finally made him look down at Yuki. His visible eye rounded in alarm.
She was glowing. Yuki was glowing with chakra. And on the normal kind - this brand happened to be a shimmering, mirage-like energy that just so happened to be the startling color black. It was licking Yuki's skin, leaving traces all over her body. The tendrils were even starting to lap at Vell's exposed neck and arms with that same agonizing burn.
If Vell didn't have that chunk of humanity hidden behind all his anger issues, he'd have dropped the brat.
"Fuck...!" The silver haired teen had no idea what was happening to Yuki. Was she dying? Was it a strange poison of some kind? Genjutsu? What the hell was this stuff? The more he tried to claw for an answer them more frustrated he got when all it received was more pain. Either overwrought imagination or - well, that's the only thing it could be - painted the same blackness on his own arms before his eyes.
Vell stopped and crouched down, hugging Yuki closer, grimacing at the new wave of pain that bloomed in result. "Onii-san, you're a bastard," he told no one through gritted teeth. Then he forced a knot of his chakra into the source of the blackness, to stun it, if temporarily... It worked, and the chakra faded, but... Why the hell was it coming from inside of her?
Nothing for it now. Vell checked his arms. The imaginary marks were gone. Those on Yuki weren't, but something told Vell that there would be more if that black energy had run rampant, devouring her childish body. Vell shook his head.
"I take that back. Onii-san, you're a fucking dick." He re-situated Yuki into his arms and walked as quickly as possible to the hospital. After he dropped her off, he'd go get Kakashi...
Fun.

By the time Vell even opened his mouth to speak, the burning sensation and the images of seeing this bizarre black light overwhelmed Yuki and she quickly fell limp in his arms, going unconscious. The pain was too great for her small body to deal with, no matter how...fast it went away. The black tendrils seemed to recede and dive back into Yuki's body, it's branding work finished.
She lay there, repositioned in the Kakashi-look-alike's arms, unmoving and barely breathing. Her mind was blank, save for the continuous replay of what had happened this previous day. Getting into that brutal fight with Yasuo, losing Kiba, crying, killing Yasuo, traumatized....
More tears, she thought. She would cry for weeks, perhaps months or even years, over today. All that had happened was her fault and there was no way to reverse it. The guilt was strong.
A small sentence brought her back. "I take that back. Onii-san, you're a fucking dick." It made her chuckle, the randomness of it. It was completely out of place, but a little funny nonetheless. She didn't know who her carrier was talking about, or to for that matter. But she found comfort in his irritated words, amused by them. But now she wanted to speak, to reply to him.
However, her head began to pound again, the sharp pain targeting the middle or forehead. That dark light again... The black glow lit up her face, those same vines lapping at her skin, burning on contact. Her bleeding hands shot up to the spot the black tendrils touched and she let out a painful scream, feeling the scorching black etch a strange design into her skin. She began to cough and wheeze, her chest convulsing and her heart beating hard against her chest.
Her hands fastened to Vell's jacket, digging her claws into the fabric. She was hurting so bad....

Put her out of her misery.
In Vell's mind there was always two conclusions, whenever he had to make a decision concerning someone else's life. Normally it occurred during missions, with his teammates, but it was happening now: that bi-polar reasoning. It reminded him of an adult telling a child what to do with a stern tone, pausing a minute, and then breaking to compromise with its stubborn offspring. This first conclusion was "Put her out of her misery". Vell waited half a second for the next option, swallowing at Yuki's claws in his chest and the blackness that had returned only a minute after being stalled.
Take her to Kakashi and see what he can do about it.
It made sense. Kakashi had had this girl since - did the midget say five? - well, for a long-ass time. He should know what to do. Vell decided to skip the hospital and take her to her father...his brother.
Vell was furious, nonetheless. As he started at a run, the pain of Yuki's scream and her claws and the black chakra eating them both alive nearly made him fall, but he continued. By cursing his brother.
It was a really useful technique. As he ran, Vell sent all his hatred at Kakashi. Swearing long and eloquently, Vell compared Kakashi's attitude unfavorably to a lackadaisical prostitute's, his face with unlikely and unhealthy body parts, and his intelligence with several species of farm animal.
Surprisingly, the pain was less acute.
They had just reached the hospital when Rage's head snapped back to the road they'd come from. His face was blank, but his orange eyes searched the crowd. Awaji saw the expressionless teen and frowned. "What do you mean, Vell-senpai's not following us anymore?" he squeaked.
Another half-second and Awaji's shoulders slouched. "Scythe-senpai said he'd catch up. I'm more worried about the lady Vell was carrying. She was hurt real' bad."
Rage still hesitated, Kiba hanging over his shoulder, gazing into the distance as if eager to see the wild haired Scythe coming up the road.

Yuki held on as tight as she could, the pain seeming to double when Vell picked up speed. It almost sent her into another unconscious daze. Almost. Just the movements and and quickening of pace made everything more agonizing.
Her head lolled as they moved, only making her hurt more. She groaned, her screaming ceasing yet again. Her hands relaxed and let go of Vell's shirt, to weak to continue holding on. She was beginning feel sleepy... Another look at her carrier's face and her eyes sagged half shut. Her heart slowed...
All she wanted was to go home. She grimaced a little, thinking of her blacked out room and her purple blankets rolle up into a pile on the floor. She thought of coming home and collapsing on the couch again, nearly falling asleep from exhaustion, only to have Kakashi poof in and pick her up, take her upstairs, and tuck her into bed. She thought of cuddling with Kiba, as odd as it was to her, and watching a movie. And of Akahana, her silly dog partner... She was a good dog, only six months old and still very good at tracking and finding things.
She smiled faintly at these small yet very important memories, people, loved ones, as her eyes shut completely. Another round of agony washed over her and this time, she fell into unconsciousness.
Amaya sped up, leaping from branch to branch, smelling an awful scent. The moment it wafted into her nostrils, she froze mid leap, her mind racing. She fell, only to catch herself on the dirt path. The scent... She cringed and pulled her black scarf over her nose, crinkling the small extension of her face. It was a horrible smell.
She had no doubt that Yuki couldn't smell it. After all, when you're in pain, you don't think about what's around you or what's filling your sinuses. But that aroma was of old books and burning flesh and it was very rude. Very rude indeed. No matter how Amaya covered her nose, the stupid scent would worm its way into her nose. It stirred the contents of her stomach, not the food or water that might be there. No. Something else.
The Gobi.
Amaya tensed and frowned. Death and flesh was a common trigger for her foul, five-tailed beast. That, and naked girls. The demon was a pervert and he wasn't a nice one. She glared off in the direction the scent was coming from, trough the trees. It carried small traces of her friend. She cringed.
Yuki could be hurt.

[Below is a failed set-up of Amaya and Rage, and further a failed Vell-Gets-Knocked-Out scene. The former, I thought "The sooner we get it cracking, the better? 9.9;;" The latter...I am very, VERY tired. -__-; Hope your hand gets better! D:]
Searching the forests for Scythe like a faithful hound treks back to find its hunting master, Rage was disappointed when his sprint through the trees brought him to the feet of the small purple-haired girl from before.
Scythe's scent must have clung to her, back then. That's why Rage had smelled the wiry man near. His peach-colored eyes dulled with discouragement.
The girl turned to him now, having just noticed his presence.
Vell couldn't believe he'd made it. All the way to the old house, too. But apparently that was all the farther he could go - he'd run out of things to call his big brother, and nothing less than vile and vulgar names would blot out the pain.
Now he collapsed on his back so as not to further injury Yuki. She was unconscious. Vell looked down at her little smile with absent confusion. But the blackness was what really captivated him. It hadn't stopped but now he was used to that violent agony. The sad part was, he was sure that Yuki was, too.
So where the hell is he...? Vell lifted an arm and pulled the red mouth-covering down from his face to breathe better - and noticed the blackness on his own forearm. His mind must have been playing tricks on him again.
He looked down at Yuki again and decided she had the right idea. Vell leaned his head back and fell unconscious from the pain.

Amaya squeaked uncharacteristically, faintly hearing the fall of Yuki and that strange Vell boy, only barely noticing one of the newcomers. Slowly, very slowly, she turned to look up at the tall guy, cringing just slightly at his look of disapproval. That made her growl: her sudden sensitivity to a person's expression.
However, she reasoned, this could very well be an effect from her dear friend's sudden collapse. So, she turned her whole body to face this... Rage, was it? and made sure her royal purple eyes glared into his own peachy ones. His presence was beginning to irritate her and she had to get to Yuki as soon as she could.
"Have you come to-" She stopped herself short and examined him further. He hadn't come to retrieve her or the others. No. On the contrary, he came in search of his friend. She gave the smallest of sighs and turned again, taking a small step. "He shouldn't be too far. He was right behind me."
She removed her scarf, sensing that the horrid scent had dissipated. She ran her blunt fingers through her very layered and unnaturally bright purple hair, adjusting her headband absentmindedly. This boy was still here. She frowned, if only just, and turned again, unsure of what to do. Again, uncharacteristically.
In the midst of rushing nurses and loud, quickening then slowing beeps, swift changes of bandages, and even swifter changes of saline IVs, Yuki awoke with a sharp intake of breath, joltin into a sitting position. Only, she fell back against her bed with quite the heave thump. She groaned.
Everything was a painfully bright shade of white, an almost institutional color. Every cabinet was painted with brown or grey. If you were lucky, maybe even a soft blue or periwinkle. The fluorescent lights made no effort to calm all this insanity. Instead, it made it worse.
Another groan.
A familiar burning sensation flared across her side and up her chest, around her arms, and finally at her forehead. She hissed, lifting a hand to remedy the problem. It hurt even more when she touched it.
From the corner of her eye, she noticed a slumping, grey-haired man talking to a kindly nurse, his tone smooth and so very comforting... Turning her head just enough to view the man, mentally putting off the pain, her heart skipped with glee and her bi-colored eyes began to water. It was Kakashi-tousan. She smiled as widely as she could without hurting herself.
When she opened her mouth to speak, the tall jounin turned towards her and he, too, smiled a hidden smile. His daughter, as unrelated as she may be, was awake.

[This took too long, but my mom stole my computer. >.>'' Sorry. >A<]
Rage couldn't help but be stunned. It had taken years for both Scythe and Awaji to understand his nonverbal communication; Vell still couldn't gauge what the mute teen was trying to say through expression alone. Yet this girl had deciphered his unspoken words in such detail in a glance. Rage looked her over as she pulled off her scarf, eyes narrowing slightly, as if trying to see into her soul and discover her true nature.
To his disappointment, she'd closed herself up tight. For whatever reason.
/"Oi, Rage-kun,"/ a voice crackled from the communicator on Rage's neck, startling him a little. He'd forgotten he had it on. /"I'll assume you're listening, since you couldn't answer if you wanted to,"/ Scythe chuckled. /"Come back to the hostpital, bud'. I'm here. I went to get Kakashi-san and found Vell-kun and Yuki-san unconscious on his doorstep. Vell-kun's beat up, but he's fine. Yuki-san...she looks bad. Head over here as soon as you can."/
The radio buzzed out of focus and Rage looked to the short haired girl again. She was obviously stricken at the news, namely that of her friend. There was also a wildness in her purple eyes...she was controlling it, though, as it seemed.
Rage dipped his head to the girl, turned, and darted back into the forest on foot to return to the hospital.
Vell was brought back from dreams of a burly, bearded blond brute by something like a sledgehammer plowing into his stomach. "Senpaiiii! Wake up. Scythe-senpai says I can't go eat until he's sure you're okay," Awaji whined pitifully.
"I won't be okay if you end up popping my spleen," Vell choked.
"At least you're talking." The silver haired teen blinked, then shoved Awaji out of the way. Scythe leaned against the wall at the foot of the bed and smiled like he always did. "You had us worried, Vell-kun."
Vell's ear twitched irritably. "What where you so worried ab--" Bed? Wait. Why was he in a bed? Vell looked around and realized that he was in a hospital room. "What happened? I got the brat to Onii-san's house, then..."
Scythe shrugged from the wall. "Then we found you passed out on his stoop, the both of you drenched in black chakra. That's what I was worried about." He still smiled, but his eyes informed Vell that the silver haired teen was being an asshole again. Gently. But still calling him an asshole.
Grimacing, Vell swung his legs to the bedside, rubbing his sleep-squashed hair. "Yeah..."
"Oh," Scythe said, perking, "and if anyone asks, the four of us are a traveling band of circus gypsies. <3"
"WHY." Vell had not the strength nor will to grace that statement with a proper question.
The wily man counted off on his fingers: "Rage-kun is the mute strongman, I'm the quirky knife-thrower, Awaji-kun is Hedgehog Child, and you're--"
"Say it and die," Vell snapped, but Awaji piped up in almost the same instant.
"Neko Boy! :D" Awaji scuttled around Vell's claws and giggled behind the tall Scythe, who grinned widely.
"Well - we couldn't let them find out what we really are, could we?"
Vell glared at him, unamused. "That story's ridiculous. No one will believe it."
"It's so ridiculous they'll have to believe it," Scythe corrected.
"..." The silver haired teen rubbed his temples to ward off his oncoming headache. "So where's my brother?"
Awaji stopped laughing and Scythe's smile almost dulled completely. "With Yuki-san," Scythe admitted quietly. "Kakashi-san came in earlier, but when they told him you were just sleeping it off, he went to see her. She's in pretty bad shape."
Vell stood up from the bed and stretched his arm above his head with nonchalance. "All right, then. Let's head back."
"Huh?" Awaji squeaked.
"His daughter's hurt. We'll be a nuisance to Onii-san if we hang around like ghosts. He's got enough on his plate." Vell walked out of the hospital room without a glance back at the two. "Let's find Rage and go."
"Vell-kun..." Scythe sighed with a shake of his wild hair. While Awaji scampered out the door, Scythe followed languidly, both intent on stopping Vell from leaving.
